SECURITY

Building Access and Procedures
A power-assisted door is provided at each entrance of the building with an access ramp for ADA entry.

New Employee Access Cards

A designated tenant representative must request a security access card by submitting a Work Order Request with the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address (for mobile access)
  • Current Passport Quality Photo in JPG or PNG format
  • Access Parameters (please indicate if the employee has 24/7 access or is limited to 6:00am – 6:00pm and what days of the week their key card will work)

Please note that the Building Management Office can only assign access to common-area fixtures (turnstiles, elevators, building front doors, etc.). Tenants that have keycard readers installed on the doors of their suite must internally coordinate access to those readers.

Lost and Replacement Access Cards

Please submit a Work Order Request to report a lost and/or replacement access card. Tenants will be charged $18 for lost access cards. Within 24-hours, a replacement badge will be activated and/or issued to the authorized tenant representatives.

Monday to Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00am, on weekends, and on holidays, tenants or employees will be required to possess a valid security access card and key(s) to their suite.

After-hours access of the building can be gained from the west lobby by putting your card up to the card reader located adjacent to the handicapped door. After placing your card, you will then be able to push the door button to open the sliding ADA door and proceed to the security desk to sign in.

To exit  the  building  after-hours,  on  weekends  and  on  holidays,  all  tenants  and  visitors  must depart from the west lobby. Parking garage patrons must exit via the east lobby to take the garage shuttle elevator and scan their building ID on the card reader to obtain garage access.

In the event the person desiring entry does not have a security access card and/or a suite key, building security will request a form of identification and attempt to contact a tenant representative listed on the emergency contact list for the tenant and obtain verbal approval for access. The person will be asked to sign in and if necessary, contact a building engineer to unlock the suite. A charge will be billed for the engineers’ time. If security is unable to contact the tenant representative by telephone, the individual will be refused access.

Building security will confiscate any security access cards that are invalid, damaged, or used for a purpose that is not intended. Invalid security access cards  are  cards that  have  not  been  entered  into  the  computer  system,  cards  that  have  been  deleted from  the computer system or cards that are not programmed to operate designated card readers.

All visitors must show a valid driver’s license, state identification or passport upon arrival to be granted access to the tenant’s suite. 321 North Clark utilizes the MyKastle Online System for visitor access in the building. Instructions for use of iVisitor is provided by the building management office.

A property removal pass is required to remove equipment and/or boxed items.

Designated tenant representatives must enter a property removal pass via AWARE Manager prior to any equipment and/or boxed items exiting the building.

All deliveries must be made through the loading dock located on Lower Carroll Street. Click Here for map.

Catering orders must be made at the loading dock and be delivered through the freight elevators. Personal lunch/dinner order(s) placed through area restaurants must be picked up in the lobby by the tenant. Security will not make calls on behalf of food deliveries in the lobby.

Loading and unloading of deliveries is reserved for trucks, vans, and other delivery vehicles with a limitation of (30) minutes maximum parking time.

For deliveries requiring a period greater than (30) minutes (i.e delivery of furniture, large shipments, etc.) or extremely heavy or oversized items, notify the Building Management Office to reserve the freight elevator for use after normal loading dock hours (6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.) All reservations should be made at least 48 hours in advance and may incur fees associated with security measures.

Building management in conjunction with AK Preparedness has developed comprehensive emergency procedures that include fire, explosion, bomb threats, medical emergencies, armed intruder, and weather preparedness. It is pertinent to maintain a current list of tenants that would require assistance during an emergency evacuation. This should be on file in the building management office at all times to assure that those with short and long term disabilities receive the necessary assistance to evacuate safely. Building management will schedule training sessions for you and your employees to familiarize you with the plan.
